3 Reasons Why You Should Unplug From Technology

Oh, how I value the weekends when I can unplug from technology for a little bit.  I feel like it puts everything wrong in the world right back into perspective.  Without disruption, I can think clearly, and I can breathe better, and my level of anxiety rapidly goes down.

If you are anything like me once you get up to take care of the house, the family and then go to work, you have no personal time for yourself.   I spend the entire day solving problems for everyone, at work, and home. Sometimes I feel like I have to drive home in silence to unravel the day.

Unplugging during the day is special to me.  It allows me to manage my stress.  So hears what I do to unplug

-I drive in silence on my way home.  The silence gives me personal space to evaluate my day and to strategize my  reaction.

-I exercise with groups of people who have become a great group of supporters to me. They are happy; they are people like me working hard during the week and working out to relieve the stress.  No matter the size or age, there are groups of people out there that are just like you.

-When I take time off for a vacation I tell everyone that I am not reachable and will not answer texts or calls.   Setting boundaries is necessary.

-I have set boundaries with my staff on when to call/text me.  I am not happy when someone calls me at 3 a.m. to tell me they can’t come to work.  I am sure they knew this at 8 p.m. and should’ve told me then!
